More than 1,000 children will be able to attend school and kindergarten near their homes in Greenfield.

The special situation of education in 2020 raises an alarm regarding the safety of students and teachers and the conditions in which the educational process takes place. Deficit report between demand and supply in the country's major cities

In Romania's large cities, the limited number of state educational institutions in relation to demand has led to the establishment of private centers, which entail a financial burden for parents. The northern part of the capital acts as a magnet for residential interest, due not only to the presence of large corporations in the office buildings existing in Pipera, Aurel Vlaicu, and Băneasa, but also to the upscale lifestyle. However, despite real estate development and the growth of the young population, like all sectors of the capital and large urban agglomerations in general, Sector 1 also faces a deficit of places in state educational institutions. Thus, according to ISMB data, there are currently only 25 middle schools and 18 state kindergartens in Sector 1.

Authorities are interested in solutions to build new state educational facilities in developing areas, to reduce school migration to the hyper-congested center of Bucharest. Such initiatives reduce time spent in traffic and the degree of pollution, as well as the discomfort of moving children long distances and the lack of safety for children walking to school alone.

Education is a fundamental pillar in shaping citizens and requires maximum attention so that the learning process can take place under optimal conditions. However, insufficient space in schools and overcrowded classrooms have necessitated temporary solutions, which is why, at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, over 1400 Bucharest students had to learn in modular constructions (source: pressone.ro).

Another extremely unpleasant aspect that the municipality is facing is the lack of building safety. Over 170 educational units, including schools and kindergartens in Bucharest, are housed in buildings with seismic risk, according to data from the ISU Report – September 2019.

Land donation initiative for state kindergarten and school

Impact Developer & Contractor has a solution to reduce the phenomenon of child migration whose families live in the northern area and is donating 9620 sqm of land to the City Hall, free of charge, for a state kindergarten and school. Along with the project for the construction of the school and kindergarten, the value of the donation amounts to approximately 1.75 million euros.

With the donation of the land, over 1 million euros (excluding VAT) have been allocated for the expansion of public utilities that will serve both the school and kindergarten, as well as other areas in the vicinity of the neighborhood. Greenfield. The construction of additional access roads in the vicinity was not neglected either. Today, these are in the final stage of approving the PUZ (Zoning Plan) documentation, and once completed, they will be transferred to the public domain free of charge.

Additionally, according to the approved urban planning, near the school and kindergarten, on two plots of land provided free of charge by Impact Developer & Contractor to the municipality, an STB (public transport) terminal, various other public facilities, and an ISU (Inspectorate for Emergency Situations) unit will also be built to serve the entire Northern area of the Capital. For the execution of these functions and infrastructure elements, Impact Developer & Contractor has allocated a budget of over 3 million euros (excluding VAT).

The capacity of new educational institutions

The school and kindergarten in Greenfield Băneasa will have direct access to a public road and will constitute modern educational spaces, where approximately 1,000 children from the northern area of Bucharest will learn, as follows:

– The kindergarten will be able to accommodate 150 children in 15 classrooms, with the addition of a multipurpose room, an event hall, a medical office + isolation room, a food preparation area, administrative spaces, technical spaces, gardens, and a covered playground.;

In school, two shifts of 390 children each will be able to learn in 13 classrooms, 5 laboratories (chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, foreign languages), two workshops (music and arts), 1 after-school room, 1 library, a gym + locker rooms, a multifunctional foyer, a speech therapy room, a pedagogical counseling room, a medical room + isolation room, a buffet area + food service office, a school store, a covered inner courtyard, an outdoor sports field, a partially covered recreation yard, a maintenance workshop, bicycle parking platforms, and various technical and administrative spaces.

Reduced travel time

The presence of a school and kindergarten in the northern area will allow for an extended sleep of 30 or even 60 minutes, thus more time spent at home with family. The most advantaged will obviously be the children living in Greenfield.
