Greenfield breathes Clean Air! Come and see for yourself!

Back to blog

Air pollution in Bucharest has frequently reached alarming levels recently. The most affected are people living in areas with little vegetation and high traffic, such as the city center. Air pollutants can have a serious impact on health, leading to the development of heart and respiratory diseases (bronchitis, asthma, allergies, etc.) and even cancer.

Maps showing atmospheric air pollution levels do not place the Capital in a green top, but rather in one dominated by shades of yellow, orange, and even red. But the good news is that there's a special place in Bucharest, in Sector 1, Băneasa area, where you can connect with nature and breathe clean air –  Greenfield neighborhood.

In Greenfield, The air is registering better, cleaner values., than in the center of the Capital, thanks to the 900 hectares of forest that embrace the residential district. The values are checked using an air quality monitoring station and are presented on the Greenfield website. All integrated sensors are certified by manufacturers, who are global suppliers of components for measuring instruments.

Key indicators measurements are temperature, PM 10 (particulate matter), CO (carbon monoxide resulting from the burning of fossil fuels, such as vehicle engines, thermal power plants, and cigarettes), NO2 (nitrogen dioxide, which results mainly from combustion processes, such as those in vehicle engines and power plants) and humidity. The values are offered in real-time, and for comparison, the maximum allowed values can also be checked.

Application SmartAir City, a solution developed by Syswin Solutions, is sensor-based, energy-independent, and provides critical parameters in real-time. Furthermore, it offers notifications and alerts about urban pollution levels. In addition to the main compounds causing air pollution, the monitoring station also provides information about air temperature and relative humidity. All data collected by the sensors is transmitted in real-time and can be accessed from a phone, tablet, or desktop.
