When and where is it recommended to walk your baby?

Back to blog

Have you recently given birth and don't know when you should take your baby for a walk? Are sunlight or fresh, cool air, like that in winter, beneficial? Are you about to move the greenest residential neighborhood in Bucharest, Greenfield Băneasa, And you're wondering when and where would be ideal to walk your baby? We have answers to all these questions.

We've moved past the time when popular belief dictated that newborns should stay indoors as much as possible, protected from the cold outdoor air and prying eyes. The only rule you should follow is take the baby out for their „first walk in the world” when you feel ready, if you have had no health problems and if you have recovered after childbirth.

A baby isn't made of porcelain, even though it might seem that way, but it is still more sensitive than an adult, and its immune system isn't as strong. That's why it's still a good idea to avoid overly crowded areas and public transportation. Why? Viruses, strong odors, poor conditions, germs.

Quiet alleyways between apartment blocks or parks near home, are ideal walking paths. And for those living in Greenfield, we recommend the paths in the complex, those leading to playgrounds, and those near the forest.

Regardless of the season, don't worry about the low temperature; your baby will be perfectly fine if dressed appropriately.

Depending on the season, you can go outside with your baby, even in winter. Even 10 minutes a day can be enough to feel the fresh winter air or the first snowflakes.

In spring or autumn, however, avoid going out in the rain, in strong wind, or in fog.

Spear spring is the most offering season in terms of walks: apart from the maximum temperatures, between 12 and 4 PM, The morning and afternoon are ideal times for walks. Good for walks.

However, it's best for a baby's sensitive skin not to stay in direct sun for extended periods, so we recommend a walk at sunrise or sunset. Băneasa Forest and the coolness it offers, even on hot summer days, I am a advantage for Greenfield residents, so I can go for a walk all day long.

During the summer, the best time for a walk is in the morning, between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. In the evening, after 6:00 PM, a breath of fresh air is welcome.

During winter, the ideal times for a walk are between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. After 12:00 PM, the weather is even friendlier, and a siesta is always pleasant. After this walk, the baby will also have a good appetite, and a walk at this time will be good for the mother too.

No matter what, if the baby is very young, even if you have perfect weather conditions, It is not recommended for the baby to be walked for more than 30 minutes.. If it is larger (and over 20 lbs), do not walk it for more than an hour.

Any outing in nature should be a joy for the child, but also for the parent, so don't smother him with too many clothes, even if it's colder.

From the parents' perspective, Greenfield Băneasa it can be the ideal option for starting a family. The neighborhood is surrounded by 900 hectares of Băneasa Forest, which means a slightly lower temperature in the summer and cleaner, fresher air, far from the hustle and bustle.
