The number of people who run has increased by 130% over the past 5 years

We, those of #comunitateaGreenfield, it is pleasing to think that we also had a significant contribution to this state of affairs. For several years, we have gladly supported competitions for two of the most commonly practiced sports by urban dwellers, arunning and cycling.
An sstudy conducted in the spring of this year, on a sample of 1100 people, aged between 18 and 70 years showed that, becauseșand the youngest run more often, running is practiced from what îWhat elseșamong the elderly. There is also an observed increase in the practice sports among the female segment.
According to the studyhim produced by Quantix Marketing Consulting Regarding sports trends among residents of the Bucharest–Ilfov area, 49.3% of respondents went running in the last 12 months, an increase of 130% compared to 2014, and 31.8% of respondents cycle. Thus, running and cycling rank among the top favorite sports activities of the population in this region, followed by fitness and bodybuilding, swimming, and soccer. In addition, there is growing interest in participating in running competitions, 35.6% in 2019 compared to 15.6% five years ago, which explains the increasing number of competitive and non-competitive sporting events organized recently.
Alongside Road Grand Tour and Băneasa Race, we started Greenfield Duo Challenge, a new sports event with a route in Băneasa Forest, which combines the two activities (running & cycling) in a duathlon-type competition. We look forward to you meeting some of the followers of the two sports on Sunday, June 30th. The start will be given starting at 10:00 AM, from Aleea Privighetorilor (next to the „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy), and at 3:00 PM the race will conclude with the awards ceremony.
We strive to be creative and design sporting events that are as appealing as possible in order to attract as many participants as possible. In addition, we aim to promote a lifestyle in which sports play an integral role, regardless of age. The latest studies we conducted in the Greenfield neighborhood, located right next to the forest, show that 62.7% of the neighborhood’s residents take regular walks in the forest, 54.4% engage in some form of running, and 34.2% ride bicycles off-road on the forest trails.
The route within Greenfield Duo Challenge there will be one suitable for all participants, both for running and cycling, and registration can be done individually, as a relay, or for both. The race begins with a run of about 8 km through forest paths (an easy off-road course) and continues with a bicycle route totaling approximately 20 km, most of which is a single trail.
