How your living situation influences your relationship and well-being on a daily basis
Back to blogThere are times when you realize that it's not just your schedule or daily responsibilities that influence your mood, but also where you live. The rhythm of the neighborhood, access to nature, tranquility, or, conversely, constant hustle and bustle — all end up being reflected in how you start your mornings, the energy you have throughout the day, and even in your relationships with loved ones.
For Monica and her partner, the change came with their move to the Greenfield neighborhood, located near the forest on the outskirts of the city. The two moved here over two years ago, attracted by the way the development is organized, with „scattered buildings that don't create a feeling of crowding” and plenty of green spaces.
Unhurried mornings and a rhythm that feels different
After more than two years spent in the Greenfield neighborhood, Monica says the difference is felt primarily in the daily rhythm.
„We were attracted by the fact that the buildings are spread out, they don't create a feeling of crowding, and the complex is well organized, with many green spaces. Basically, you have the green of the forest just steps away, and at the same time, a neat and airy neighborhood. The pace is more relaxed, and that's felt in the daily well-being. The fact that we can quickly go out into nature or for a walk without inhaling city pollutants completely changes the energy of a day,” Monica stated.
Mornings, when not rushed by a schedule, start simply, and for her, „the morning begins with reading, meditation, or a little stretching,” a ritual that helps her maintain her balance.
A full program, but better organized
With over 15 years of experience in procurement, Monica has a demanding schedule, but she has learned to organize her time so that she doesn't give up the things that matter.
During the day, things are as practical as possible: for lunch „I either order cooked food from the neighborhood or I quickly cook with ingredients from the corner grocery store.” And the afternoons, especially in the summer, she uses „for a bike ride through the forest.”.
In such a context, balance is no longer an abstract objective, but becomes part of the daily routine.
Movement as a form of balance
For Monica, body care is essential, especially after spinal surgery. For this reason, she chose a type of exercise that emphasizes balance and consistency.
„Usually, evenings are dedicated to exercise: Pilates on certain days, mindfulness on Fridays, yoga on Saturdays, and aqua fit on Sundays at the local gym. I like to maintain this routine. I had surgery for a lumbar hernia, so proper exercise is essential for me. The classes at Wellness Club ”and the gym in my neighborhood helps me maintain muscle tone and take care of my back. I prefer Pilates, yoga, and mobility exercises because they are balanced, safe, and effective for my needs," explains Monica.
Easy access to these options, right in the Greenfield neighborhood, means that exercise is no longer postponed but naturally integrated into the schedule.
Moments when you really stop
Beyond physical activities, relaxation also comes from simple things that require attention and patience. For Monica, drawing and floral arrangements are a form of unwinding.
She says these activities help her „get into a relaxed state of focus,” where she can completely detach from her professional rhythm.
Time together, no complicated plans
When it comes to time spent as a couple, things are simple. No elaborate plans are needed to create valuable moments.
„Walks clear my mind, and a brisk pace helps reduce stress and regulate energy. There are days when my boyfriend and I go for a walk in the woods to make plans and reconnect. A simple walk becomes quality time,” she says.
The proximity of the forest makes these moments easy to integrate into daily life.
Everyone with their own rhythm and passions
One of the things that contributes to their balance is that they don't try to do everything together. Each maintains their own interests and their own social circle.
Monica is involved in neighborhood activities and says that „I participated with my neighbors in small potluck sessions, where we exchanged ideas and experiences,” as well as in various workshops.
At the same time, her partner has their own circle of activities.
„My boyfriend has a group of friends he goes to the gym with, and from time to time, he organizes jamming sessions at home – he plays guitar and invites friends over. The community here builds itself naturally, through common passions,” she adds.
A community built over time
In the Greenfield neighborhood, neighborly relationships aren't forced but arise naturally around shared interests.
„The community here is built naturally, through shared passions,” says Monica, describing how connections form over time.

The balance that is also felt in the relationship
Looking back, Monica says many of the changes came about without her looking for them.
For her, it is clear that „a healthy lifestyle comes almost naturally,” because „you breathe differently, you move more, you spend time outside.”.
And this is also reflected in the couple's relationship.
„We are not a symbiotic couple – each has their own passions, and the neighborhood supports this independence. It's precisely this balance that helps us find each other again with good energy,” Monica also declares.
