Our long-term objective has a specific purpose: to have a positive impact on the environment and society, while creating value for both Greenfield residents and the company.
CO2 Emission Reduction
Through strategic partnerships with global leaders in green energy projects, we are striving to bring a new standard of efficiency to construction, in large-scale real estate projects in Romania.
Currently, Greenfield offers the highest living standard in the affordable housing segment and was developed using standardized construction solutions for cost efficiency and high energy performance.
The buildings and apartments in Greenfield feature:
- Efficient individual heating systems
- Efficient windows
- Interior brick walls
- 30cm thick exterior walls with dense insulation
- Underfloor heating and smart thermostats
To reduce CO2 emissions and preserve the exceptional environmental quality, in Greenfield we focused on:
- Sustainable planning and construction
- Selective waste collection and waste management
- High-efficiency interior and exterior lighting
- Wastewater recovery and management
- Air quality measurement in Greenfield
Greenfield is becoming the largest green project in Eastern Europe
The essential aspects of development are: the widespread use of renewable energy, high energy-efficiency buildings and systems, green roofs and facades, efficient and sustainable water management, waste management, low-emission transportation solutions, smart home solutions, and the management of a sustainable and modern city.
Widespread use of renewable energy
- We are analyzing the development of an innovative central heating system for the next 5,000 apartments;
- Benefiting from the unique characteristics of Northern Bucharest (high temperature at relatively shallow depths), one of the main features of the system can be the use of geothermal energy using both deep drilling and conventional geothermal heat pumps;
- Geothermal heat pumps extract heat from the ground during the winter, and in the summer they provide cooling;
- Deep geothermal installations bring water to 40-60 degrees Celsius, which can be very efficiently used by the community;
- To bring the water to the required temperature, each building will benefit from a smaller condensing boiler;
- Photovoltaic panels installed on terraces will ensure energy consumption for common areas and pump consumption;
Low-emission transport solutions
- All homes will be within a ten-minute distance of public transport and everyday neighborhood services.
- Extended facilities in the community center, public school, and church reduce the need to travel outside Greenfield
- Electric chargers for electric cars and scooters
- Ride-sharing options for electric cars, scooters, and bicycles
- Expanded bicycle infrastructure (including external connections)
Efficient and sustainable water and waste management
- Rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling (resulting from domestic use) to reduce water consumption and minimize the volume conveyed into the public drainage system;
- Water management in an economical way, by using low-flow shower cabins and faucets, and low-water consumption toilets;
- Practical and efficient selective waste collection using underground and connected bins.
High energy efficiency construction and systems
- The objective for the next phases of the Greenfield Residential Complex is to obtain BREEAM Excellent certification.
- The use of durable and sustainable materials will influence the selection of construction solutions;
- Reliance on bioclimatic design aims to achieve efficient shading and natural lighting solutions through the optimal orientation of the building and the design of windows and terraces.
We are raising the CSR standard in the industry
Obiectivul Greenfield este să ofere locuințe bine construite și cadrul ideal pentru o comunitate responsabilă, unde locuitorii pot avea acces la toate facilitățile și serviciile de care au nevoie.
The existence of a neighborhood near the forest brings the need to come up with social responsibility initiatives. Greenfield residents live in harmony with nature and in accordance with its laws, respecting and protecting the animals in the area and taking care of the forest and the environment.
